here’s a random question for you: say you’re a dude and you meet me and of course are instantly smitten. what’s not to love, really? we get to talking, have a couple of dates, you’re starting to see me as potential wifey material. but then you read my blog. and see that i regularly talk about my friends and acquaintances, sometimes even mentioning them by name. you begin to worry that one day your name will be up here for thousands (LOL) to read about. what do you do?

as previously mentioned, almost all of the men that i’ve been involved with have asked me not to blog about them. and if they’re behaving, i usually don’t. but if they f*ck around, all bets are off and if i can make a funny story out of it, I will. so in my mind, a man i date has nothing to worry about – as long as he’s nice to me he’ll be kept out of the blog so it’s all in his control. but somehow i have a feeling that no man wants to date a girl with a relationship blog.

so men, illuminate me: would you date a blogger?

So, this has truly been an issue for me in the past. While I don't give any names … ever, and I am pretty good about not getting too personal on my site, the fact alone that I say some racy stuff, have put a few of my past "indescretions" out for the public, and that I have to talk about relationships … 24/7.

But, I must say that I could never date you given the above circumstances. as long as you "act right"? I'm sorry, but that should be some sort of blogger code that we abide by. I don't want someone to be afraid that I'm gonna put them on blast on the internet or something like that. If I wanna be mean, I don't want revenge to put my job in jeopardy.

i see what you're saying and i agree that it would be wrong of me to put someone on blast in the blog. i guess the way i put it makes it seem like blackmail – mess up and i will publicly hang you out to dry – but what i really mean is this: good relationships don't make good stories. if you do something heinous that i can turn into hilarity for my readers i'm more than likely gonna blog about it at some point. yes i will protect your identity but i'm not going to give someone who f*cks me over the luxury of being spared from my blog. however, if you treat me decently and with respect i really won't have anything to write about.
